The Doctor called me “a miracle baby”

Before my Mom and Dad met, my mom was married to her Late husband, with whom they had four children together. My 3 brothers and my sister. After her 4th child, my sister, my mom decided she wanted to tie her tubes, so she did that.

After her late husband passed away, she met my father. My parents were together for 5 years, and that’s when my dad started to talk about trying to have a child; he really wanted a child of his own. When my parents went to see the doctor, the doctor had to do tests, which overall costed more than over One hundred thousand rand, my dad had to sell his car ect. A week later the doctor called my mom to tell her they found cervical cancer and told them there was little to no chance of them conceiving due to the fact it had been little over 8 years after my mom had her tubes tied but he assured her they could do the two operations 1 being the tubes untied and Radiofrequency ablation to burn the cancer. Despite that, my parents still had faith. She went for 2 operations, through C-section, they operated on her, untying the tubes, stretching them and removing the cancer cells on her cervix.

Praise God, 5 months later, my mom fell pregnant even tho the doctors said there was little to no chance.
The doctor was not happy due to the fact that it was a dangerous operation, as she already had 2 operations beforehand, to untie her tubes and remove the cancer.

My due date was the 25th of December, but the doctors gave her the 20th to come in, as they didn’t want to work on Christmas.
9 months later, before labour, they did an epidural, but it wasn’t working, they used countless medicines and over 9 shots of epidural, and no progress was made, so they said for the safety of both mom and baby, they had to take her into theatre.

20th, of December 2006, I was born. My mom started swelling up like a balloon around her feet and legs, which we later found out was a reaction to all the medicine which was given to her, but despite everything, I was a healthy baby, and my mo,m after 2-3 week,s had the swelling stop.

God is the reason for me being here today, and not only for protecting me in the womb, but also for protecting my mom through the process and providing for us to be able to do such an expensive and dangerous surgery.
